Marian is one of the elder sisters of Schneider and a NPC in Reverse: 1999. She was kidnapped by the Manus Vindictae and the main motivation for Schneider's joining the faction, wishing to use them to help find Marian. It later lets slip that they were behind her disappearance, and she is discovered behind a wall with Truth Serum flooding her system. It is implied that she, like Schneider, was a human who could wield Arcanist power.

A scared and timid girl, she is implied to have lied about being an arcanist for unknown reasons.

History

In Our Time

1ST-09: Security Carnival

We are first introduced to Marian indirectly, as Schneider has a conversation with Forget Me Not inside The Walden. She comments on his "good day", while confirming the success of her mission to capture seven arcanists and indoctrinate them into the faction. After asking what reward she might get for her perfect performance, Forget Me Not confirms they are "still" searching for Schneider's missing sister. She thanks them for being considerate, in which Forget Me Not claims that Marian would be touched by how much Schneider cares for her, despite being adopted. Schneider insists on the importance of family, and thanks him for his efforts, before revealing she never informed them of which sister was missing.

1ST-11: Charge, Baby, Charge!

After the Auto Island crashes a hole into the back wall of The Walden, Sonetto draws a map of the area she finds herself in. The scene changes to Marian, collapsed against a pole, begging for help from Schneider. A vial of Truth Serum lays in the front of the frame. Sonetto hears her voice through the small cracks in the wall seperating her room from the one Marian is held hostage in. She touches the liquid flowing down the wall and confirms it to be Truth Serum due to the ingredients, but is brought away by Sotheby before she can investigate further. Despite this, she makes a mental note of a human being trapped by arcanum and to report it to the Timekeeper.

1ST-14: The Eye Of The Storm

While Forget Me Not monologues to the humans trapped in The Walden about maintaining their safety, Sonetto calls him out for lying as he has Marian trapped in a secret room. Schneider expresses silent shock at this statement, but they are then interrupted by a fight breaking out.

1ST-15: Underground Labyrinth

The Manus Vindicate removed all exits from The Walden, so Vertin's party is forced to retreat through the hole Sotheby and Sonetto created to initially enter the main room. The building had been entirely re-constructed, but due to Sonetto's map, everyone is able to search for the exit with further ease. Schneider seizes the opportunity to locate and rescue Marian by casting an arcane skill.

1ST-16: Heaven Apostles

Sonetto informs Vertin of her knowledge of where Marian is trapped, and retreats to go rescue her. Schneider is already in the room, asking if she can remember her and profusely apologizing, promise to bring her back home to the citrus orchard their family owns, carrying her on her back. Sonetto discovers her, and believes that Schneider had chased them here and was the one to abuse Marian and trap her. Schneider responds aggressively, and Sonetto attacks her in turn. Marian then becomes panicked and delirious, shouting how she isn't an arcanist and won't pretend to be one anymore. This causes Schneider to call out to her, referring to her as her sister and in clear distress. This causes Sonetto to realize her mistake and explains the situation of the Truth Serum to her. Together, Schneider and Sonetto preform first aid to get the potion out of Marian's system.

A masked figure approaches the party, followed by various Manus Vindictae goons. Schneider insists they stay focused on escaping and Marian's safety above the incoming threat, and Sonetto agrees. Sotheby then discovers the exit, and the majority of the group begins pushing the Auto Island out of the crater it created in the wall. Although their strength alone is not enough, Vertin and APPLe use the explosive device they were given to blast the car out onto the streets.

Marian, with the Truth Serum now out of her system, recognizes Schneider and asks if she is safe now. Schneider confirms that she is both safe and free while Vertin instructs everyone to leave. Everyone successfully escapes, except for Schneider and Vertin, who are now trapped inside as the wall collapses behind them.
